Update on coronavirus - what you need to know
At EVO Hockey, we are closely monitoring and following advice from the UK government, NHS, Sport England and England Hockey.
We appreciate that many parents will be wondering what measures EVO Hockey will be taking at Easter camps, whether camps will run and what will happen if a camp is cancelled. We hope to provide clarification with the information below.
The current position regarding camps is as follows:
Camps are all due to be running this Easter, based on current advice.
Should this position change, either due to a change in official advice or venue shutdown, all booking for Easter will automatically be deferred to our May half-term camps.
In the event that a parent who booked onto our Easter camps cannot attend the May camps, they can email us and will be sent an open credit for single use on any camps in the next 12 months.
Regarding measures taken at the camps themselves, EVO are following professional advice on best practices. These measures include:
Ensuring there is adequate facility for soap and water hand-washing / hand sanitiser available at each camp.
Briefing our coaches:
Not to partake in handshakes, high fives or other similar forms of physical contact with players.
Not to attend camps if displaying any cold / flu symptoms, or if they have recently returned from affected areas and to self-isolate in accordance with government advice.
Briefing parents:
Not to attend the camp, or bring their child to camp, if they / their child are displaying any cold / flu symptoms, or if they have recently returned from affected areas and to self-isolate in accordance with government advice.
In the event of any player being unable to attend for this reason, we will issue a full deferral credit for the space.
We are continuing to monitor the situation closely and will keep you updated. Many thanks for your continuing support.
