  • Minimal equipment needed- hockey stick and ball, tennis balls, household items. Occasional exercises require a person to feed the ball, or a wall to rebound

The EVO Global Players Academy brings world-class training to you, wherever you are on the planet. Through our Academy, you will learn from the world’s top international players, from Belgium, Germany, Great Britain, Spain, South Africa, Pakistan, Argentina and Italy. The Academy theme is “Ball Control” and each week looks in detail at a different aspect, as follows:

  • Week 1: 2D & indoor skills (online week commencing 1 June, 2 sessions) - Janne Muller Wieland (Germany captain) & Rhys Smith (Great Britain)

  • Week 2: 3D & aerial skills (online w/c 8 June) - Felix Denayer (Belgium vice-captain) & Rhys Smith (Great Britain)

  • Week 3: Spin & one-handed skills (online w/c 15 June) - Matthew Brown (South Africa) & Roc Oliva (Spain)

  • Week 4: Movement, body deception & decisions (online w/c 22 June) - Adnan Zakir (Pakistan) & Florencia Zappulla (Argentina / Italy)

  • Week 5: Receiving & eliminating in the pocket (online w/c 29 June) - Gigi Oliva (Spain captain) & Isabella da Rocha (South Africa)

  • Week 6: Tricky & unique skills (online w/c 6 July) - Thomas Briels (Belgium captain) & Rhys Smith (Great Britain)

  • Week 7: Combinations & big boss challenges (online w/c 13 July) - Rhys Smith (Great Britain)

Academy sessions are pre-recorded, to be watched at your convenience. No missing sessions or experiencing technical issues, which can occur with a livestream. Struggling with a section of a practise? Simply pause the video and get it nailed. Want to repeat a session? Watch and rewatch, train and retrain as often as you like while the sessions are online (all sessions are accessible until 30 April 2021). With the Global Players Academy, train when it suits you.
