Simon Letchford

 

Simon is a top-class technical coach and experienced coach educator. He has developed successful senior and junior performance teams in 3 major hockey nations.

Since 2013 he has worked with the Belgium Hockey Federation as a coach with their international teams. His international coaching highlights include:

  • Belgium senior women

    • 2017 European Cup silver

    • 2019 Pro League (5th)

    • 2018 World Cup (10th)

  • Belgium U21 men

    • 2016 Junior World Cup silver

  • Belgium U21 women

    • 2017 U21 European Cup silver

  • Belgium U18 boys

    • 2016 European Cup bronze

At club level, coaching highlights include:

  • Royal Racing Club Brussels men’s 1st team (Belgium)

    • runners up Division Honour and 2 x EHL qualification

  • Royal Wellington THC women’s 1st team (Belgium)

    • national champions

  • Reading HC women’s 1st team (England)

    • national champions indoor and outdoor

  • Harvesthuder THC men’s 1st team (Germany)

    • 3rd North Region 1st Bundesliga (indoor)

While in England, Simon previously coached England’s senior women (indoor), GB men A squad, U21 men, U18 girls and U16 girls.

As a coach educator, Simon delivers courses for both the International Hockey Federation and the European Hockey Federation. His breadth of experience across multiple countries gives him a unique perspective on player delvelopment and we are delighted to have him as part of the EVO Hockey team.
